Sufism

Often described as Islamic mysticism, Sufism is an ancient practice that has helped shape Islamic thought throughout history. Sufi orders – or Tariqas – believe in the importance of gleaning knowledge directly from teachers. Following in the Prophet’s steps, Sufi masters share their sacred knowledge with the Tariqa. Sufis are devout in their religious observance but are defined by their focus on nurturing the spiritual dimension.

Taoism

Originating in China two thousand years ago, Taoism is a non-theistic tradition of philosophy and religious belief. Everything in the universe is connected by the ‘Tao’, or the ‘Way’ and is expressed by the concept of Yin and Yang: forces that are complementary, like light and dark. Taoism promotes harmony and the pursuit of spiritual immortality through self-development practices such as meditation and chanting.

The calm routines that characterize the ancient practice of Qigong have the power to fundamentally change the way our bodies move, rest and heal. A series of carefully choreographed exercises link subtle external and internal movements that, when repeated and honed over time, have a positive impact on physical and mental health. Qigong taps into physical and spiritual energy for a complete transformation of body, mind, and spirit.
